You've spread that silly notion all over the forum.

This is what conservatives mean when we reference 'stuck on stupid'.

Really? Care to post a link to your assertions that the right calls themselves dittoheads? Denouncing both the insults on the left and the right is being on one's high horse? I thought it was being fair, unbiased and showing some maturity.

I and many others did this, while the signup table for the Democrat Party was largly ignored. Reason is that too many of these immigrant people had fled their socialist homelands, where government had grown so large and intrusive as to be just that. Intrusive. And with too large an agenda to eventually control, through ever-more "intrusive" (there's that word again...) legislation and cultural management.
...
So you fell for the GOP advertising and packaging but didn't examine the product inside.

While the GOP says they are for small unobtrusive government, they aren't. Whenever they gain power they pass laws that are indeed intrusive. We only need to look the states that have GOP majorities, states that have recently passed laws that intrude on women's vaginas with medically unnecessary probes, as proof. They are also the party that whenever in power run up large deficits and do not reduce spending.

You see, the GOP is the party that represents the rich and corporate interests and even a casual review of the types of laws they offer is ample proof. The fact is, the GOP can't win elections based upon their real motives of cutting taxes and removing regulation on corporations. So they need to fool people like you to vote against your own economic interests, by appealing to wave the flag patriotism; wedge issues like gays; giving lip service to popular ideas of freedom and liberty and demonizing the Democrats as the big-spender party that wants to intrude into every aspect of your life, while the Republicans' actual economic policies are detrimental to the average American.

Thus the pro-life factory worker who listens to Rush Limbaugh will repeatedly vote for the party that is less likely to protect his safety, less likely to protect his job, and less likely to benefit him economically.

Here ya go.

The listeners to the show are affectionately referred to as "Ditto-heads." Early in the show's run, listeners began to use the variations on the expression "ditto" to speed up the beginnings of calls, which typically (as on most popular call-in shows) tend to open with the listener excitedly expressing his or her gratitude to the host and his or her appreciation of the show. Mr. Limbaugh has explained the origin as a caller who said "ditto what the previous caller said."

On his talk show, Limbaugh encouraged the guests, callers and listeners who agreed with him to just say "Ditto"[1] instead of explaining why they might agree with him, presumably to reserve air time for additional opinion giving or friendly discourse with those that might disagree with him. Callers to his show began to willingly self-label themselves as "dittoheads", apparently blind to any sort of negative connotations such a word might have.

Gosh it is so hard to find information like this on the internet, isn't it?

Actually, I think the expression began soon after the 1990 movie "Ghost" used it.

Molly Jensen: "I love you. I really love you. "

Sam Wheat: "Ditto. "

So, actually, Rush and his listeners still don't have an original thought.

You go ahead and make the talking heads on cable TV the issue, I'll let these influence my vote.
  • 1.3% GDP growth
  • 43 months in-a-row with over 8% unemployment, the longest period of unemployment that high since the Great Depression.
  • In January 2009: 30 million Americans on Food Stamps Sept 2012: 47 million Americans on Food Stamps
  • 46 million people live below the poverty level
  • $16 trillion in debt, $4 trillion of that 0bama accumulated in just 2.5 years
  • Median household incomes have fallen 8.2 percent since 2009, and continue to drop

I'm not voting against a political party, I'm voting against 0bam's failed policies which are sending our economy down the toilet.

Well, the buzzards are picking at the carcass of that argument.
