He is wisely staying out of it because he knows all the media would do is bash him... like he is being bashed here.

Another silly desperate thread to detract from the fact that Obama is in trouble. Mitt Romney is a strong candidate and doesn't need a lot of propping up by a past president, unlike Obama who does need Clinton to enthuse the base...such as it is.

Default Bush > Romney

The tragedy that was Bush is a direct reflection on the lousy judgment and instincts of Republicans. They thought that village idiot would make a fine president, even after his first term was an utter disaster. Bush's lousy performance over 8 years highlights Republican incompetence in all matter foreign and domestic. Romney is WORSE because he represents a more regressive tea party-downgraded Republican party, one that has been worthless in Congress these past 4 years.

Pubs don't want to mention Bush because Bush was an IMPROVEMENT over the current version of the GOP.

He said long ago that he was out of politics.
A man that keeps his word it seems, rare nowadays I know.

Although I personally liked George W Bush, he signed practically every spending bill laid on his desk. He would not be credible on that issue which is a big deal this election year. Clinton overshadows Obama when campaigning and only makes Obama look more inept in comparison. I think it was a mistake for Obama to force people to compare him to Bill Clinton. He's not just running against Romney. He's running against the "capable" (not personal) image of Bill Clinton...which in my opinion, is why we should vote for experienced governors over Senators who've never run anything except their staff.

This post illustrates well the reason for W's low profile. W did not want to allow any outbreaks of BDS to distract from Romney's message.

Note also that BDS/PDS, etc. has quietly faded into the background. Four years ago it was widespread, now it is limited to a tiny segment of the far left. There is not much in the way of Romney Derangement Syndrome to speak of. With $16 trillion debt and ongoing 15% U6 unemployment, most Americans have been slapped with reality and realized that they can no longer afford derangement.

The Republicans don't want him around. They are embarrassed of him.

He realizes he couldn't contribute anything that wouldn't be immediately trashed by the left, but that's not why he's staying away. He's really done with it all. Leave him in peace.
