People who are politically smart can but most of the nation wont. Remember the windfall Obama won in 2008 with. It didn't matter if it was McCain, Romney, Jesus or Reagan, Washington or Lincoln brought back from the dead, the Republicans weren't winning because of Bush policy in particular after the re-election.

Seriously? The weeding out process is going to fast and furious with no shortage of attack adds or maybe you've forgotten how Bush went after McCain. You think that Rand Paul is going to play nice with the other Republicans. Christie or those trying to knock him down? Its going to be a blood bath!
It very well could be and end up hurting the Republicans because they all play more conservative and then try and move back towards the center when it comes time to the push into the general election.

Probably?!? Carson is Herman Caine 2.0. I'd bet by 401K, my wife's 401K, my pension, her pension, our dogs, house, cars, and my first born that Carson won't even smell the nomination.
I think that is very accurate.

Ben Carson is a neurosurgeon (i.e. a scientist) who denies evolution? No thanks.

This drives me nuts. Pander to the extreme right to win the nomination, and then move to the center for the general election, and no one calls him/her on it.

I agree but you did have the conservatives that wanted Rand Paul but not Romney and didn't vote for him in the general election. The problem is we don't have enough moderates complaining of that practice.

I am hoping he will realize the futility of trying to win the nomination for the White House(P or VP), and instead run for Barbara Mikulski's Senate seat. It would be the best shot any Maryland Republican could have to take that seat. He could then demonstrate his ability in the political arena, and maybe even run again later on.

I would vote for him either way, before I would vote for any of the Democrats who are running so far.
