Well, to burst your bubble, there was a George Washington University poll last week that showed Hillary only 3 points ahead of Trump.

Questions - Clinton/Trump - April 25-26, 2016 - Rasmussen Reports™
What initially catches my eye there is that Trump wins in the 2 out of 3 age groups. The two groups that can be more reliable to vote.

Our county (in WV) released numbers yesterday that I found really interesting.....

18,000 registered (R)

17,000 registered (D)

13,000 registered (I)

Independents have now almost caught the two major parties. Add in those registered (L), (G) or (M) and it won't be too much longer before the (D)'s and (R)'s are a minority.

Progress.

Nope, another poll has Trump up by 9 today. Even if you average them out Trump is still comfortably ahead enough where he should win, that is if you can trust polls.

I is the biggest party in several states already including my own (AZ). While it is encouraging, it doesn't portend all that much. Most I's aren't all that I. They still tend to vote pretty much along a party line. Then again, they don't have much choice as the primary systems and state laws have it rigged so that true independents are severely handicapped.

We can vote in either primary.

Gallup: Democratic, Republican Identification Near Historical Lows. Nationally Independents or Republicans and Democrats that feel they are independent voters are now in control - they already are the majority. That was last year. I would not be surprised if that number did not jump after this year's election.

Can independent vote either way in California? My husband had to register as Repub to vote for Trump. We don't know if it goes through in time before we leave for a vacation.

not in less the rules have changed in the past few years. Ca has a no cross over policy, which is fine. I think if someone wants to take the time to re-register that is fine, if someone doesn't want to take the time or just doesn't have it, I do not think a person should be able to have any say on who one party chooses to nominate.
