I wouldn't say he is doomed per se, but the path towards 1237 delegates undoubtedly becomes more difficult going forward. It is of my opinion that neither Trump nor Cruz will be able to secure the nomination come convention time - the party bosses will maneuver in one of the "establishment" candidates a la Paul Ryan, Jeb Bush, Mitt Romney etc. You can bet their convention will be a sight to see if they can't agree on a candidate on the first ballot.

Too many Trump supporters are forgetting had there not been open or crossover primaries the entire picture would different. Explain how the polls show a significant of GOP voters feel betrayed.

Certainly not by 15 points. The highest was 10 and the latest polls on Monday were saying more like 6 to 10%. Obviously because it was a 3 man race no one, thinking this through would have expected Cruz to get 50%.

No, Trump is still on a path to 1st Round nomination.
If he's a little shy of the number, enough uncommiteds
will push him over the line, along with an admired VP choice.

I think some are forgetting if he doesn't lock it up on the first ballot it becomes a whole new ball game. Most non committed are not Trump supporters.

He probably won't need anywhere near most of them.
But I do think that he's going to need an "establishment"
type VP who is well-regarded in the GOP such as Giuliani,
Sessions or Gingrich to sway some of the old fuddy duddies.
I don't think Christie or Carson will cut the mustard.

It's really sad that Cruz, Kasich and Rubio are not willing to
be his VP. Speaks volumes about their handlers' motives.
They couldn't care less about stopping Hillary.

Hillary is a Republican with some peppered socially liberal ideas gained via public polling.
