TigerLily, the American media is notorious for misreporting anything
from "The Vatican", and the Pope. Most Americans simply don't understand
how the Church or "The Vatican" works at all.
They jump on headlines and know nothing about the hierarchy or method.

For example, when Margaret Archer makes a comment, it's not "The Vatican"
making a statement. It's a personal opinion. One which Bloomberg claimed
she expressed in "a telephone interview" which has not been provided.
So maybe Bernie expressed an interest in attending before being invited,
and that is not the norm, however IF he is invited and going, we can be
sure that was approved by someone higher up than Margaret Archer.
We also know that Bloomberg IS Wall Street, so it's not surprising they
would try to take advantage of anything that smears Sanders.

The Pope didn't invite Hillary Clinton? Sounds like he likes and endorses Bernie Sanders.

The Vatican made it explicitly clear that the invitation did not come from the Pope.

Quote:
The Rev. Federico Lombardi, director of the Vatican Press Office, told POLITICO, "My information is very simple: the invitation came from the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences for the Meeting 'Centesimus Annus — 25 Years Later.' Therefore we cannot say that it is an invitation from the pope, but from a Vatican institution."

The Pope wanted to invite Hillary but the Vatican couldn't afford her speaker's fees.

Just heard Jeff Weaver on TV grudgingly confirming that the "invitation" (some debate over whether Bernie asked to be included vs being affirmatively invited) did not come from the pope. And that as a matter of fact, there are no plans for Bernie to even meet with the pope himself during this visit.

The TV pundit speculated that Bernie will pull out of the trip at the last minute as it's a waste of time to go to some academic conference in Italy on the last weekend prior to the NY primary. Weaver was adamant they are going but time will tell.

Hey, why not. They both believe in irrational little myths and superstitions, with no grounding in facts or reality. Two of a Perfect Pair. Throw in the short little fat guy from North Korea and you have a trinity.
