Think about this, if the FBI investigation looked problematic, the Obama administration would have known about it way, way before now (FBI is an investigative division of the Department of Justice, which is headed by US Attorney General, Loretta Lynch, a member of the Obama cabinet).
If there was any chance of Hillary getting indicated, the DNC would have kicked her to the curb by now . . . to set up an alternative candidate.
In any case, regardless of what FBI recommends at the end of the day, Lynch would have a prosecutorial discretion to decide if an indictment is warranted. FBI does not indict anyone . . . .it's up to the Justice Department.
Super Delegates apparently can vote for anyone they like regardless of the vote.
True, but most of the super delegates are former elected officials who served as Democrats, since the primary is to nominate a candidate who will best represent the party. Hillary has been a Democrat for over 40 years. She has spent a lot of time fundraising for other Democrats. There's no reason they would switch loyalty to a man who has called them corrupt for decades. Also, Bernie said the same super delegates shouldn't exist and there were petitions by pro-Sanders groups to eliminate them. Unlike his supporters, they probably aren't going to forget these little things.
I don't know how real or unreal the possibility is but I suspect that the idea has crossed the mines of many in the circles of the Democratic leadership and I would be absolutely shocked if contingency plans haven't come up in conversation.
If an indictment against Hillary were to be handed down, it would all depend on the timing. Frankly the sooner the better for everyone concerned, the FBI, the Justice Department, Hillary and the public. If it were to happen before the convention and Hillary were to withdraw she could either support Sanders or she could throw her support to some yet to be named alternative.
Perhaps or perhaps not. I would, and have argued that if there was a strong belief by some pretty informed attorneys in the White House, the Congress, and elsewhere that if there was a realistic expectation of charges being filed the pressure on Hillary to withdraw would have been pretty strong and other Democratic possibilities would have smelled blood in the water and jumped into the race long ago.
But I'm not one to make strong predictions one way or another.
All fair points, and I agree that the dem establishment not only supporting her, but not even putting forward another option, spoke volumes of their confidence she will not be indicted.
it's somewhat silly for so many people to absolutely dismiss the possibility the FBI recommends charges. They have an active investigation against a prez candidate in the middle of an election - the decision to keep investigation open I'm sure is not skin lightly.
We can all speculate - but it's silly to outright dismiss the possibility of her being charged, and equally silly to think it will 100% happen.

Of course we don't know for sure, but Hilary has been dealing with an organized witch-hunt against her for the better part of 30 years. This seems like more of the same.

The DNC know Hillary will be indicted, that is why they haven't kicked her to the curb.
With the super-delegates, the powers that be in the DNC can hand pick the nominee and blame it all on Hillary.
...And Lynch will pick a partisan Republican as special counsel to whip the voters back in line.
