I think our words carry enormous weight. More than we sometimes think. Are there any war crimes over there? well, I was never there, I don't know. But I am assuming there will be because war is horror, you don't mix morality with war. Fraud? perhaps.. Soldiers are not above criticism.
All these being said, as a potential statesman,Lack Of Tact is getting old.
Mr. Trump - 10 points.
I still like him, but this is disappointing. I like him because he is an outspoken billionaire who tells the truth, but as a statesman, I hope he can do a little bit better.
Lots of false outrage. Then again, I don't think we have had the quota of derangement topics today.
Clearly it's stated in the OP's article
According to a 2015 report by the Center for Public Integrity, a nonpartisan watchdog group, "at least 115 enlisted personnel and military officers [were] convicted since 2005 of committing theft, bribery, and contract-rigging crimes valued at $52 million during their deployments in Afghanistan and Iraq."
So I will give Mr. Trump benefit of the doubt, he was talking about the iraq soldiers.
This said,
Let's say he was talking about U.S. soldiers. Is he completely wrong? no.
But what is the difference between him and John Kerry who claimed his fellow soldiers committed terrible war crimes?! You don't think politicians should be just a little bit tactful?

Ooops
His spokeswoman, Hope Hicks, said Trump was referring to Iraqi soldiers, not U.S. soldiers

I guess your definition of truth differs from mine.
I guess, if you are satisfied with someone who tells the truth a mere 9% of the time. Personally, I find it sad that that would be good enough for his supporters, but obviously it is.

I agree with him 90% of the time. So you are right, your definition of truth is different from mine.
For your information, my biggest concern about Mr. Trump is not his policy, it is lack of tact. I think this is his biggest flaw.
