I noticed something very interesting. There are many counties across the US who voted for Obama in 2008 and 2012, yet this time around they voted Trump. Do people honestly think that residents in these counties just woke up one morning and decided to be racist bigoted xenophobic misogynists? Doubtful... But what is certain is that many people who voted for Obama during the last two elections knew Hillary was the wrong choice.

For starters...

Regarding Affirmative Action, in truth, white women are the primary beneficiaries of affirmative action policies in the U.S., but oddly, affirmative action's white female faces are rarely at the center of the conversation.

White women benefit most from affirmative action

I've gotten to know many Hispanic persons over the years. I only know one who was behind Trump. Ironically, it was not a Cuban. It was a Puerto Rican who came here straight from Puerto Rico. Evangelical too.

I'm not surprised about Florida. Florida is a whole other ball game. I wonder how that vote turned out in Texas.

I'll make a confession. The first election I participated in, I voted for Bush. I was 18, somewhat impressionable, and didn't know much about either side. Truth is, I had a big dislike for Bush. I was a hardcore liberal until some College Republicans managed to persuade me otherwise. Being impressionable, I went along. Part of me wanted to prove "we're not like those other Blacks". I went from being a Republican to despising Bush right a few days after Hurricane Katrina. A series of other events turned me to borderline socialism. I started taking a "look out for me" stance when it came to politics.

Fact it - your president is a bigot. And the world knows it. Have you seen any newspapers from other countries lately? Jesus, we are the laughingstock of the world.

Maybe but I would bet there are members of racist groups such as the New Black Panthers who voted for her. I would bet there are some radical Islamists who voted for her. Bottom line is there are bad (and good) people who voted for both of the major candidates.
