Cruz is crappy. And Beta still lost. And he spent $79,000,000 doing it too.

Because Texas is a red state and the odds of him winning were slim and he got closer than people expected and it looked like he might win for a while. He just needs to win the purple states and the ones that are more blue now.

So Democrats spent an amazing $78,000,000 on something they knew they couldn't win?

I'm not buying that. hahahaha Nobody believes it except poor desperate Democrats who want to believe Beta is the second coming of Obama.

They wanted to win it..... Badly. And Beta couldn't pull it off.

Not to white evangelicals, Ted Cruz’s core voter base.

As you said. Cruz tried to suck up to Trump but I don't think it helped him. It disgusted his most loyal supporters who backed him in 2016 and didn't endear him to anyone. Greg Abbott received 70,000 more votes than Cruz on a statewide race which means lots of loyal Republicans declined to vote for Cruz, otherwise he would have won with a landslide 60% plus. Think of the message that sends. You're a Republican. You go to the polls to vote. And you either don't vote for Cruz or you vote against him.

Thats not true. Being a good candidate in one state does not mean you are good in every state.

Joe Manchin can win in West Virginia, He would likely lose to a moderate Republican in most Left leaning states because the core left isnt going to support a "republican lite"

Name a race. We will talk about it. I'll be glad to.

Otherwise, you are simply making another fallacious generality to address a specific candidate.

Only Democrats would call that winning.
A republican winning in Texas by 2.5 percent is actually rather pathetic. Given most states are not as far right as much of TX has been, Cruz likely would have lost in most other states. In fact he did rather poorly in his bid for the presidency in 2016.
