It’s too early to tell, but 2018 wasn’t a good omen for him because he nationalized the election and lost the suburbs.

How in the world do you think they "reluctantly" voted for Trump over Hillary. That's just biased opinion. I could just as easily said that people very reluctantly voted for Hillary because the MSM supported her and she reflected the status quo. They know better now.

Trump did far far better in the mid-terms that Obama. You ignore this point completely.

Because they dumped the Republican Party and voted for Democrats in 2018 after Trump made the election all about him. As per opinion polls showing a massive shift in Independents in the suburbs away from the Trump branded Republican Party, from a 2.9 million vote deficit in 2016 to a 9.7 vote deficit in 2018. All of that turnout, the largest offyear turnout percentage since 1914 and the largest plurality for a party in congressional history was generated by opposition to Donald Trump.

Incorrect.

Trump did far better at the midterms than any president in modern history. And the fact that he INCREASED his margin in the senate is a bad foreboding for the democrats indeed.

Democrats poured everything they had into Texas & Florida, and they couldn't bring it home. Very bad indeed especially since their leading contender for the nomination is the person who lost in Texas.

Congrats on being able to win back those swing states of Indiana and North Dakota.

Have a wonderful night in that alternative universe you inhabit.

I think it's too early to make any predictions. Trump's popularity is in the gutter. I suspect next year will see a recession, 2020 at the latest. That's one wild card. Another wild card is what the democrats do between now and the election. It already looks to me like they will devote a lot of energy to focusing on Trump and pushing gun control, which will be a turnoff in some states, especially those areas where democrats ran and claimed they would not push that. Divisive social issues won't win them much support outside of the most liberal and urban areas. The final wild card is who the democrats run and if the GOP primaries Trump. The GOP really needs a different candidate but the dems don't appear to have a very good list of candidates yet.

Tell us the name of the Democrat who can take them from Trump and we might have a conversation.

News flash, wilful --- that snot-nosed attitude, using words like goober --- well, a lot of us who really didn't like either side, voted right because that attitude is so flippin pervasive on the left. Stay cocky, my friend....it's one of the reasons Trump won the first go-round. Thank you!

Well said. According to liberals they aren't racists or bigots. What happened here?

Anyone nominated.

He’s that damned bad.

It will come down to a half-dozen states. Trump will lose the national popular vote to any Democrat nominated. In order to win he probably needs a third party candidate to pull of 5 to 10% because he’ll never win a majority. Expect a near record or better turnout because Trump generates turnout, although more is negative to him than positive.

It could go either way, but with a great chance of a record turnout, I like the chances that #45 will be a one-termer.

My prediction is Dems will run Michelle Obama with oprah as her VP, or a transsexual, lesbian, Muslim, Black woman if they can find one.

Trump hasn't even tried to increase his base. Many democrats and independents who voted for him won't make that mistake again. Trump won some states by a very small margin. Most of our country is tired of all the drama with Trump. And personally, I'm tired of all his lies. And I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one.
