I agree. Many people that throw their hat into the ring just do so to gain name recognition and then they write a book.

He's not hurting the Democrats. He's running as an Independent which will cut into both parties' votes. He is definitely not a Ralph Nader or Gary Johnson. He has the potential to win. You might want to think about that........

I voted for Gary Johnson last time around.

You probably voted for Clinton, so you are a bad decision maker IMHO.

No problem, you'll have a field of Bernie Sanders wannabes all trying to prove they can be more socialist than the others.

I'll take Trump or Schultz (an honest Liberal) over anything the Dems will field. The DP is no longer interested in democracy.

The left boycott anything and anyone that does not fall into their goose-stepping totalitarian machine. That is how they have been operating for years.

It didn't take them long to attack this guy who basically turned his chain into a homeless shelter as they demanded he should. He had to atone for the sins of the manager who had been swamped with homeless people flooding her store.

In other words, she did her damn job!

What did the Nazis do when they began to take power?

Thy boycotted all Jewish businesses, blaming them for all the problems in Germany.

Sounds like progressive socialist tactics to me.

An absolutely, beyond the pale, completely off the rails statement! Schultz is hurting no one. For democratic loyalists like yourself who will live and die by identity politics, he won't steal any of your votes. For diehard republicans who also never vote outside of party lines, he won't steal those votes either.

What he just *might* do, is a) garner a lot of pissed off democrats and republicans who are fed up with the same crap in a new tie or new shade of lipstick....and b) get a lot of resigned Americans to get up off their asses and turn out to vote!

There are oh so many of us out here, all over this big, hurting country, who aren't buying the load from either side. We watch the back & forth, we listen to the incessant "my way or the hiway" chatter from the left, and we pay attention. That you and others on the left are so against this guy is a good sign. A very good sign. Obviously you want what's best for the Democratic Party, not what's best for the country.

He might get my vote if he runs, I'll have to see and hear more. This might be the first presidential election in a really long time, where I'm not voting for the lesser of two evils, but voting for someone I can actually feel hopeful about.

I voted for neither candidate in 2016. One was corrupt; the other was crazy. Pick whomever you want to assign these descriptions. I voted for another candidate.

I will not vote for Trump because of the reduction of several national monuments and selling mineral leases on public lands near sensitive areas. However, the current Democrat hopefuls are waaaaaay too far to the left, sorry. No to open borders (that is my environment wacko stand, not racist), no free health care or college for all.

Give the guy a chance. We haven’t had a centrist for awhile, iirc.

No we need an independent to win in 2020, now more than ever, this revenge/identity politics needs to end, and the only way to do that is kick both the republicans and democrats out. I'm not sure if Schultze is the right guy, but at least he won't be carrying the baggage of party loyalty. We need somebody who can unite the country together, not split it even further apart, and only a centrist independent who will inevitably attract voters from both democrats and republicans can do that at this moment. Why can't we all just rise up show the republicans and democrats that they don't own us and vote for someone different? That kind of happened with Trump, but he's technically a republican, and too extremist and makes too many waves for people on the left to go along with.
