I imagine that Mr. Jones believes that Mr. Trump has no chance of being President again in 2024, and so he can't look to Mr. Trump for a future pardon. Sticking his finger up into the wind, Mr. Jones apparently believes that Governor DeSantis is a good bet for 2024, as well as a 'fair' bet for a pardon.
If Mr. Jones were to come to believe that Mr. Yang was the likely President in 2024, then Mr. Yang it will be for his support.

Probably an apt assessment. The contents of his cell phone could cause him a few minor problems before everything gets sorted.

Maybe. A presidential pardon doesn't do anything with respect to civil suits, but I guess Jones could be worried enough about perjury charges to shop for a pardon.

That is a very astute assessment of the situation. Jones is looking for any port in the storm.
It will be interesting to see DeSantis's reaction to this endorsement. I can't see any way that it actually helps him. For certain, the hard core Trump base would shift to DeSantis if Trump does not run for President in 2024. His real challenge will be to retain the younger and middle aged centrist/true conservative Republicans.
To accomplish that he'd have to appear more Presidential and normal than Trump. And an Alex Jones endorsement sure isn't helping to accomplish that.

You are correct, of course. However, as Cuebald noted, there may be potential Federal criminal charges that we are not aware of, yet Mr Jones is.
Jones’s audience is almost totally Trump supporters so for him to skew to DeSantis shows that some people are looking to the future…
Trying to get ahead of the curve…
That's likely true, but it doesn't in any way mean that Alex Jones supporters are typical of Trump supporters. As we all know, there are far right loons and far left loons.
Exactly. It would not be a positive thing. Maybe he could extort money from Republicans to keep him from endorsing them.
Might be worth it to avoid such an endorsement.
