I like Ron Paul when he talks about the gold standard and money. I don't like some of his other ideas though. He's almost too much of a Libertarian. Kind of reminds me of the guy who wanted to get elected so he could eliminate his position.

He's more of a traditional conservative than a Libertarian. People just don't look at the history of conservatives and see that most of the people in the Republican party today simply aren't conservatives. True conservatives have always been anti-war. Remember that a Republican was elected to end both the Korean and Vietnam wars. The party has lost its way, just like Paul said.

And Ron Paul's main objective is to get the government out of your personal life and to maximize liberty.

And of course, Libertarians and conservatives love to cut taxes and government spending.

Serious about what??? Giving you a reality check by telling you that your preffered candidate is pretty much done as far as 2008 presidential nominating contests are concerned. Won't you go ahead and point out something funny about that. What you need to do is come back to reality - Talk all the talk but your candidate is not gonna be on the ballot this Nov

Why are they not saying they'll support whichever one of them wins the nomination? If their positions are identical, I don't see how you can have a problem with one if you support the other. If they both believe all the same things or almost all of the same things, how can you not support both of them? If their message is the same, the only way you could dislike one is if you had a problem with them that isn't related to politics.

For the record, I'm not a Hillary supporter.

Hillary is just as liberal as Obama she just had more practice at fooling middle america.
She comes on as moderate to appeal to everyone so she can get the vote.
Just as Obama uses HOPE and Change speeches with no details on how socialist his ideas are.

This is one of the things I like about McCain (and Hillary too) -- I think both would end up being fiscal conservatives. McCain would be for sure. If Hillary followed her husband's lead, she would be also.

Hillary's healthcare plan would save America money. Krugman did an analysis of hers versus Obamas. Her healthcare plan saves the most while covering everyone.

Of course, she's had years and years and years of experience at formulating healthcare plans so hers should be the best.

Not McCain.

He said it himself that he'd keep us in Iraq for 100 years if that's what it took. Traditional conservatives were against the war from the beginning.

Ok, your point?

I am aware that he won't get the nomination. That's why I said I will be doing a write-in vote.

Now comes the part where you tell me what point you made.

P.S. People respect you when you can spell properly. Just some advice.

He gave a speech today on nuclear proliferation. It was a pretty good one. I think McCain views war as a last reponse.

McCain has been misquoted on that "100 years" in Iraq thing over and over. He was talking about peacekeeping troops like we've had in Germany and South Korea. The USA built a big base in Baghdad and I don't think it would have been built if we weren't planning to stay there. We've been in Germany since the end of WWII and South Korea since the 1950s.

And you can't be a true conservative if you support things like that. Conservatives have always supported non-intervention and not policing the world.

Our number one concern should be defending our nation.
