If people don't understand that the rapid hike of oil prices is the way that they will manipulate congress and people who don't think into allowing off shore drilling and drilling in designated wilderness areas then they just don't get it. This is Bush and Co.s parting shot to increase the profit of their REAL interests. The country that they supposedly serve has never been of any import to them. It has just been the piggy bank that they shake to pour our money into their oil companies and Haliburton.

This sillyness again? Just because you say something enough doesnt make it true. They have their similarities, but they also have plenty of differences...and in fact many sources have said that Cheney just about hates McCain.

And considering that Obama is probably more like Bush on domestic issues its laughable to hear people call McCain, Bush's 3rd term.

I love (ha, ha) those that try to defend Bush and company on this. Listen, if this administration had nothing to do with the price of gas tripling, well, explain why they over and over again REFUSED to release details of Cheneys secret energy meetings with the oil companies shortly after BushCo took the white house?
Also, the democratic congress taking responsiblity (or primary) is absurd as well. BushCo knows that in the last 2 years of their operation to make the oil companies as rich as possible before they leave. In addition, even if the dems' have control, well, who constantly fillibusters and who has final power of the pen? Not democrats.

(he's only veto'd 10 bills since taking office, 1 of them involved energy).. Ok, I love the idiots Moderator cut: Please do not insult fellow members and debate ideas rather than name call who think the Bush administration has anything to do with the rising gas prices. I've never heard such ignorance... and these are the same people who are trying to "live green". Hey, ever think the gas prices might have something to do with the price of drilling because oil is beoming scarce?
