For the last eight years, you guys have called George W. Bush every derogatory, cruel, insulting thing you can think of.
Throughout this year's campaign, you have come up with all sorts of variations on John McCain's name which are designed to cast him in a negative light, i.e. "McSame," "McBush," "McPain," etc.
Yet if we call Barack Hussein Obama by his full LEGAL name that he was given at birth, you get offended, claim it's inappropriate to use his middle name, and call us racists or xenophobes.
Do you refer to John McCain as John Sydney McCain?
No, but I refer to Hillary Clinton as Hillary Rodham Clinton. Does anyone get offended?
Also, you didn't address my full question. Why is it okay for liberals to call McCain insulting names (which aren't even his real name) and not okay for conservatives to use Obama's full LEGAL name?

The names coined for McCain attempt to portray him as what he is, a defender of Bush policies and likely to continue them, NOT something he isn't, i.e.: Muslim

Well, I don't know that I'm a Liberal. I'm certainly no neo-con though, so I'll answer:

McPain is a new one for me, but the other two are fitting, which is why I think McCain is going to lose.
The majority of people in the US are fed up and disgusted with the policies of the Bush Administration. McCain ought to be running on what he'd do different and distancing himself from the Bush debacle. Instead, he's promising more of the same, especially in regard to Iraq.

I don't mind anyone using his full name, but I see a lot of stuff like Barack HUSSEIN Obama, followed by inferences or outright accusations that he is a closet Muslim, which is absurd. I'm not offended by it, though it does make me roll my eyes that people are so easily duped.
