And for the record, I think Meghan McCain is adoreable as well. Regardless of the election turnout, she's a fantastic example for girls- comfortable in her skin, doesn't look like a perfect barbie doll. She's down to earth, intelligent, and seems to speak her mind. I was pleased to see that her parents encourage her to think and speak independently and not on a party platform.

Too bad she's not her father's running mate. I like her so much better than Palin.

I like my dog better than Palin, but he's over-qualified, apparently.

I would not call you petty - wait yes I would, and clueless too:

John S. McCain, Sr.

John S. McCain, Jr.

Why am I clueless? There are many many families with a long history of service for the country. And that is honorable, I never said it wasn't.

Poor thing, you suffered so and sacrificed; I'm sure it caused you pain to post this thread...because as you say you "hate to be petty, but..."

It is petty. Who cares what he did as a kid? Unless...wait...would delving into someone's past be okay on both sides?

Cause it's strange--anytime anyone mentions something about Obama's past, somehow it's decried as "racism."

Nothing petty about commenting on a daughter who says her family is the only family that knows about war. period. There are still 70 year olds who knew about war when their fathers did not come home, there are WWII, Korean, VietNam, Desert Storm, etc veterans and casualties who know what war is about. The one's who were not so lucky as to come home, their families know the true full measure of devotion.

Yeah, come on, lighten up. She was cute and like I said... .a nice average American family.. what's the big deal? Unless of course, you think she made an idiot out of herself?
