For starters today, again, GEORGE WILL, the HIGHLY respected national conservative columnist is asking of John McCain: "Is Your Campaign Going To Get Any Better Or Is This It?"

George Will takes McCain to task for several things, including McCain's lame plan to buy mortgages of those unable, or merely "unwilling" to pay for their own home. If a DEM guy had proposed this, he'd be crucified as a tax and spend Kennedy welfare liberal. In so many words, George Will is saying "gimme a break." Indeed. Full column at: washingtonpost.com

Meanwhile, here in Colorado Springs, there's a great story today in our "other" local paper - the paper that's NOT in the bag for Focus on the Family, Tom Delay, Newt Gingrich, Grover Norquist, the GOP, et al.

Retired military guys, life-long GOP types, conservatives, are working feverishly for Obama. Vets jumping the Republican ship : Opinions : Ranger Rich : Colorado Springs Independent : Colorado Springs

s/Mike

PS: Many of the "ranger rich" columns in the Colorado Springs Independent (aka cs-indy) are as good or better than Art Buchwald, Dave Barry, etc. Often humorous, always thought provoking. Try a few, you'll be a fan in quick order.

Either you're a racist, or an idiot, or simply just VERY naive. If you LOVE your country, then you point out its shortcomings so you can fix it. Jack Welch did that with General Electric and anyone with a product is constantly tweaking the quality and features to improve the end-item that is delivered to the customers. America as a democracy has many imperfections, fewer than in the past, but we must seek to improve it. John McCain doesn't offer much hope for improvement, Barack Obama does. None of us want to destroy our nation, we only want to destroy the problems that plague us.

Obama is ALL talk and the people are blinded by his sly talk. He does not have qualifications to become President of the United States. All he does is make promises. McCain is not a sly talker like Obama but he is NOT stupid about the economy.

Good, we agree that the statement I posted reflects the insane hatred the radical right has for Obama.

It does say something that a post like that could be taken seriously - it shows how low this election has become on the part of the right.
