An overwhelmingly majority from the cablenews focus groups believed that the candiates spent to much time and focus on this "Joe the Plumber" character and that it didn't sway their vote. As a matter of fact, all of the individual's from MSNBC's focus group all agreed he was irrelevant. (I'm just pointing out the facts.)
Well it looks as though the past capitalist 8 years drove the nation into a debt that no one has ever seen.
right NCN........keep feeding the CEO's, big industry and oil companys money so all the big wig excecs can get filthy rich while starving the poor.
This country is made up of mostly middle class and poor. We are the majority.
So these crooks better watch out.
Remember Marie Antoinette and "let them eat cake". Yeah well she lost her head in the process of the revolt.
Ouch!!
Ahhh the it all failed in 8 years argument. Do you remember the 8 years before that? Let me it was wonderful and everything was peachy keen till that big bad dubya got into office.

Crooks are the problem not capitalism. I will leave that last line alone. I am not much of a history person either. You certainly are not.
Yeah as a business owner we know more about managing money than most home owners and without doubt the government.
So I'd say Joe could give good advice.
Remember though- Joe's not a business owner yet- he's considering buying the business that he's worked for over the past 10 years. We have no idea what his level of business acumen is, as he has neither proved of disproved his ability to manage a business.
How the hell is this nobody getting this kind of face time? Hey, I want to get on national TV and have my name invoked 23 times in a presidential debate too!

He was able to save up enough money to buy a business
What's really bad is the people attacking him for trying to achieve something in life. Such a horrible horrible man wanting to "make it".
Well if you guys want people to stop coming in droves over the border this is a sure fire way as this really is the last best hope of man. If you wanted to leave this country to go to a place that is more like America than the new USSA where would you go? At least there used to be a place to escape to.
Dear ocnymonty,
by what you've written here, it is apparent that your brother's boss is a ME type of person. does the boss need a new truck every year? probably not. can he afford to provide benefits like health care coverage insurance, profit sharing, death benefit insurance, or other perks to try to retain his employee? probably.
these days, it's costly to hire new employees. by your brother's employer hiring him back, your brother helped him save a little bit of money. by continuing to work for him is really cost effective because the employer doesn't have to go to the job site and babysit a newby to be sure the job is done right.
you, and your brother shouldn't feel bad though, there are literally hundreds of small business owners out here who are either tight with their money and do not pass on the wealth, or they're tight with money out of greed.
but don't think your brother's labor of love isn't appreciated. it is. why, because it is skilled labor. and, he has the license to prove it.
I know, I know, asking your boss for a raise is difficult, it's something good loyal employees don't like to do. sometimes, it's necessary, and, sometimes, the employer might surprise with a yes answer. the best he could do is just ask, the worst that can happen is a no answer. most times, employees are dependent on employers giving annual or bi-annual raises based on merit, loyalty, and for just plain old, doing a good job.
as for who your brother votes for? I would consider this as personal and private as going to the bathroom, the employer really doesn't need to know how he votes.

My brother has worked for him for 5 years with only two raises... one was given after he left to work for another employer.... and he was hired back. I wonder if his employer will be upset to find that my brother is voting Obama.
