If Obama is elected, he has to fear the reaction of the right.

I think we'd all appreciate some straightforward honesty from you. Can you do it?
It would not be a Republican,.............

it will be a terrorist from a group against the groups that he consorts with.

I only hope McCain & Palin keep pushing Ayers, and Joe the Plumber, and - oh, the latest attack, that Obama is a socialist. (Gee, ya think anyone with the McCain campaign is reading this forum??)

McCain can't win on the issues, and when he and his sidekick talk about Ayers and Joe and stuff like that, all that they accomplish is riling up the whack jobs that make up their (shrinking) base.

It's gonna take some time for the Republican Party to recover from the fiasco that the McCain campaign has become. I almost feel sorry for the guy - all he's done, and all he's been through, and the principles he used to have, and he may well be remembered most for his descent into the Rove Mud of political campaigns.

So you're convinced that Obama pals around with terrorists, and that that terrorist faction has another terrorist faction who opposes them, and that Obama is at risk from that second terrorist faction.

Have I got that right?

You know people are laughing at you, not with you, right?

My own view is that Dem politicians and Repub politicians are both sides of the same bad coin. Name one who doesn't have associations with questionable people. Having said that; I've sat on boards with people I don't socialize with otherwise. Or, if I do see them we chat but aren't necessarily friends. I am neighbors with all kinds of people. I talk to all kinds of people. I did things in the 70's that I would not do today, omg. I just missed the 60’s darn. Ayer's blew up a toilet in the Pentagon protesting the war. He wasn’t the only one. Hundreds of thousands of young people at that time protested, very few of them violently. One person was killed from the actions of the Weather Underground. It is well documented Ayres was not involved in that one. His history is old news. Our country is in so much trouble that this obsession with Ayers who is such a small player is baffling and scary. Get over it. I don’t care who you vote for, but vote based on the candidates voting record and his stance on the issues. We can talk all day about Obama associations or McCain’s relationships (Keating, Liddy, His campaign manager, etc.) At the end of the day it is a non productive waste of time. What do you know about either candidate’s records? What bills have they sponsored or vote on. How do they treat the people around them?

Will Obama get away with it? If not, will it stir up racial trouble?

FINALLY !!! A voice of reason !!!

I completely agree with everything you wrote above!

Republicans are so quick to label everyone a "terrorist" that they don't even try to understand the circumstances behind the actions.

The Vietnam protests were crazy! At that time, there was a DRAFT ... so EVERYONE was affected by the war.

Back then, protestors did everything they could to end the war ... even commit acts of violence.

They and their friends were being drafted, sent to Vietnam, and DYING in huge numbers !!! For a war that they did not agree with !!!

It's not anything like the war in Iraq, which is being fought only by those who volunteered, and also by mercenaries hired and paid by the U.S. govt.

of course he did, he's laying off the negativity and letting his minnons do the attacking , this is politics 101, either you're a typical dem who thinks this stuff doesn't work or this is your first campaign because you've been seduced by "change"
