I guess relatives are somewhat like the people they vote for. I got an e-mail from a relative telling me they wanted no more Obama e-mails. So I just X-ed them from my file. I was afraid I might forget and send one. I don't tell people what they can and can't send an e-mail about. When I get an e-mail I don't like, I just hit delete.
I started to think about it and realize it will save me a lot of money. I send presents for graduation, weddings, babies, etc. When our family has these things, we get nothing from them at all.
Sometimes you have to realize that they may be relatives, but you have nothing in common with them. You have to wonder about Catholics that are voting for someone who is so pro-abortion. Talk about hypocrites!
I guess I knew it was coming from this side of my wife's family. Besides our regular weekly dose of; PROOF POSTIVE THAT OBAMA'S A MUSLIM, and PROOF THAT OBAMA PLANNED 9/11, to OBAMA TO FORCE ALL WHITE WOMEN TO HAVE ABORTIONS emails from this side, we sometimes do receive some cute jokes that don't involve race.
The other day we got one about how "he (meanin me-golfgod) is totally brainwashed, he's just helping the "N"s to take EVERYTHING FROM US and give it to the rest of the Ns and Mexi***s.
Yeap, "everything" is going to be taken from this yahoo. He works a low to mid-level civil service job, she barely graduated high school and IIRC has worked off and on in a coffee shop. Two of their 3 kids are not high earners either, an engineer (she does pretty well $) and a night auditor at a hotel and the third one whose career path reads like a college student's a different service type job every 5 months or so. I guess the kids think everything is going to the Ns and Ms. Like they would actually want any of the carp that these rednecks own.
I think some people are stuck in the '50s.

His name is not American, so of course some people will associate with with 9/11. Some of us lost friends it it. My husband lost 300 coworkers. We only moved to TN a little over 2 years ago.He was supposed to be in the Trade Center for a meeting that day, someone else went instead. They didn't return.
His views are socialist. Other countries want him to win because they know we will be weaker.
I bet the Kool Aid wore off on your wifes family. You really are not nice knocking them like you did. I guess they don't want the wealth spread so you could pay their bills.

Sounds like some members of my family. One works in a gas station and thinks that his close to minimum wage paycheck is going to be taken by the "socialists" so they can build luxury apartments for all of the "illegals." All the while he will just keep changing oil while listening to Rush Limbaugh on his old greasy radio.

I know lots of educated "southern", "rural", people, both college educated and non. Very few of them drop the "N" bomb, or the "M" bomb. I'm not sure what it has to do with this thread though.OTOH both of our familes have non college educated types who don't talk that way.

If you knew much about the African American experience in the US you might not take such a jaundiced view of the spoutings of the "fringe" members. OTOH, listen to what GW Bush, Palin, Pat Buchanan and many of the nea-cons preach. It sure isn't love and puppies toward other races and nations.

Now you're just arguing against yourself! If someone is "educated" then they should be able to read a newspaper, or somehow inform themselves, instead of just listening to Limbaugh and Hannity all day.

Do you know anything at all about "socialism"? And to say "they know we will be 'weaker'" is LAUGHABLE at best. Weaker how? Economically? Well the Bush regime has certainly strengthened us economically hasn't it? We're not only a debtor nation, we're a borderline "deadbeat" nation". How has that strengthened us?
Weaker militarily? How is that even possible? We've been squandering lives, money and equipment at a horrible rate in Iraq. And that equipment has NOT BEEN REPLACED AT THE RATE IT'S BEING DEPLETED. Has that somehow made us stronger?

I'm not even sure what this paragraph means. But then your entire post didn't make a lot of sense when read CRITICALLY. Something you might want to try sometime.
Normally I don't reply to posts such as yours, but I made an exception because I had a few minutes. Try going back and re-reading the OP. Or just turn on Limbaugh and sit around complaining about how "I'm losing everything to the "Ns".

It may surprise you (and no doubt some Catholics) to realize that the Church has other values besides just that one.
I got into it last week with a friend sending me anti-Obama lie e-mails, all of which I have returned the Snopes link to him showing that they're lies. He's a 60 year old gay man who believes that Obama is a racist, socialist, communist, etc. I honestly think it's just racism on his part. Some old white people just cannot fathom a black president, no matter how much he's on their side.
