But the smart ones won't drive to DC. Instead, they're taking advantage of normie's taxi service. We'll be dropping off neighbors at the metro station so they don't even have to worry about parking. Another neighbor who has a big van is going to help pick everybody up.

Ah the traffic, I suspect it will be hellish and I'm from freaking LA. Thank god, I'm not the one driving.

I hate to say this, but there aren't any smart ones going. that is going to be an absolute nightmare. taking the metro home after a redskins game at RFK was horrible. I can't even imagine what it's going to be like that day. my god. it's call TV people. as for parking in DC, you can't find a spot on a wednesday afternoon.

I have two houses up there. a rental in PW county, and my parents house in springfield. not to mention brothers in old town alexandria, and out in BF bealeton. wonder why people are so willing to drop money on a trip they can't afford with such a bad economy. do I see the "barack obama sheep who attended the inauguration bailout package?"

We'll be at the tail end of a Metro subway line, so we get first choice on seats.

Yeah, traffic will be a mess. So what?
It's that way for ANY major event. This one will be worse to be sure, but the fact is that it's a traffic hassle to attend ANY major event - be it a concert, a sporting event, an event like the Worlds Fair or the Olympics, or THIS event.

Many things are simply not the same on TV. Yes you can get just as good (or better view) view from at home on your couch, it's NOT the same as being there.

And to MANY people, apparently it's worth it.
