The purpose of this thread is not to start a bash or to have people start bashing Bush or Republicans, it is to discuss our worries about the new President. If you have to post something negative about others, please start your own thread or post elsewhere.

I for one am very worried about the new President. I was never fooled by his resume or lack of qualifications for the office of President. I watched him stutter and stammer when asked questions that made him deviate from his prepared speeches. He promoted change and it is obvious he has no intention of changing. His complete and utter lack of experience scares me. His socialist ties and agendas will only help to promote the ruin of this country. And the worst part of it all is his obvious involvement in the corruption that is Illinois politics. Also, his wife could give Hillary a run for the dubious mantra of scariest first lady. I will give him credit for a good sense of humor and I think he knows how to have a modicum of bipartisanship. He also seems to have some energy too.

But overall, I am not seeing a qualified person of character who will be great for our country. I see a weak Jimmy Carter styled President who will potentially cause great harm. I honestly hope he proves me wrong.

Any else have worries they care to share?

I can't have any worries given that the President-elect is still President-elect; that he has yet to sit in the Oval office, rather behind the desk of the Oval Office, and lastly remembering that great quote by, I believe Dick Gregory: "Been down to long, it looks like up to me"...I think that is the way we must look at things, especially given our current times.

Sure, I'm worried about his socialist policies. I'm worried about his inexperience. I'm worried about people like this who he has signed on to be his advisors:

Press Release | Obama "Regulatory Czar" has Secret Animal-Rights Agenda, Says Consumer Group (http://www.consumerfreedom.org/pressRelease_detail.cfm/release/249 - broken link)

"...tapped by President-elect Obama to head the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs..."

"...In a 2007 speech at Harvard University, Sunstein argued in favor of entirely "eliminating current practices such as … meat eating." He also proposed: "We ought to ban hunting, I suggest, if there isn't a purpose other than sport and fun. That should be against the law. It's time now."

Sunstein wrote in his 2004 book Animal Rights: Current Debates and New Directions that "animals should be permitted to bring suit, with human beings as their representatives … Any animals that are entitled to bring suit would be represented by (human) counsel, who would owe guardian-like obligations and make decisions, subject to those obligations, on their clients' behalf."...

Obama scares me to death.

Again, I do not wish him BAD luck as this is my country also and I dont want to suffer unnecessarily,

That being said, they better leave my one crack shot 22 alone........

Whoa, that's some pretty nutty stuff! How is someone supposed to know what an animal wants? My dog seems pretty content for me to give him food and water, and throw a racquetball around for him to go chase.

Anyone who is familiar with his record and carefully reviewed his campaign should be worried. Objective observers have justified cause for concern. He wanted to raise 6 or 7 taxes, pass employee free choice act, give the Government more control over Healthcare and other things.

His Labor Secretary basically supports open borders and full rights (including Social Security) for illegal immigrants and EFCA. Holder pardoned the FALN terrorists and Mark Rich. In addition, they say that having Holder at Justice may make FBI and CIA leery about being as tough on terror. Panetta tried to slash the CIA budget when he was in the Clinton WH.

Yes, I have much concern about Obama. I feel sorry for the people who are so hopeful about his Presidency based on nothing, or perhaps a few moving speeches. When he gives off the cuff interviews, he can be quite bad. Just watch him on MTP from last month.

I am worried because so many are viewing him as a savior. This is the farthest thing from the truth. the current economic situation did not happen due to one man and one man cannot change anything. If people will cooperate, we may see some things change. but I caution..don't hold your breath. This situation happened because there was too much easy credit. When people don't have to save to buy a house and provide a down payment..there is no buy in. no vested interest. Nothing good can come of something when people aren't invested in the process totally.

I'm worried too, but more for our safety and when the people who are in lala land right now, when they start to wake up and won't accept the checks not coming in and no jobs created by Obama....how they will react ....I know they probable first start to blame Bush, but that will stop at some point and what will happen than?

It's going to be the people on the far Left who are most disappointed with Obama.

The far right crowd never did like him, and will never like him. That's the the way they play the game.

But the far left THOUGHT they were getting "their man" into office. But, as it turns out, Obama is far more centrist than leftist. And THAT is what is going to have people POd.
