About the same, or even darker on average. My suspicion is northern Italians are darker than northern Spaniards, the differences between regions of Italy are exaggerated.

Italians in terms of skin complexion, they are most likely the darkest in Europe with the Greeks and Albanians of course. Especially those of Sicily and Sardinia.

I am only answering the thread's question and I believe I have the right to comment on things which I well know. Spaniards are on average lighter-skinned than Italians, nothing wrong with that. If you don't like the thread or are not interested, just bypass it. It is that easy.

That's funny I'm of British(particularly English) ancestry myself and I know plenty of people of British ancestry or from Britain as well, not only that I use scientific evidence to back my statements something which you are not familiar with, which is much more specific and studied closely. For example the fact that you're British won't help, to know things such as genetical clusters, you were unaware with what populations of the world do the British and Irish populations cluster with. Unless you look into scientific studies done on the populations of your country. That why you never understood my statements, because you are not perhaps "scientific minded". The statements are not fully based on my personal opinion, I always use scientific evidence to be more accurate. So it's you who doesn't have clue and who thought Germany lay north of Britain, are you all there? My statements concerning Italians, has scientific back-up done in studies recently in 2012 by the GWAS which by comparing four European populations Irish, Portuguese, Italians and Polish. By comparing their skin pigmentation, the Italians came out as the darkest and the Irish as the lightest, on that basis Italians are over-all darker than Portuguese. This doesn't mean there are no pale Italians, rather that most Italians are darker than the European average including Iberians. You probably have Italian ancestry as well, this was not meant to offend you in any way rather it is a scientific aspect. Italians are slightly darker than Iberians.[/quote]
