Sorry NY and London ARE comparable, since they are the only two alpha++ cities in the world. An no NYC is not the capital of the world.

Oh, and most people learn English from where it came from. Including Americans.

Ever heard on the British Commonwealth, where the prime language is English? The British Commonwealth covers almost a quarter of the world's land area, spanning all the continents. The Commonwealth has almost a third of the world's population, with an estimated population of 2.245 billion. That may give you a clue. Two countries applied without having any constitutional links to the British Empire or a Commonwealth member. Mozambique, a former Portuguese colony and Rwanda a former Belgian trust territory that had been a German colony until WW1.

If there such a thing as capital of the world it is clearly London.
