Russians do what they need to do for the security of their state.
When Ukraine invites their enemy, it has it coming.

The sad thing is, Ukraine is just used by the US for their own purposes.
We didn't start the fire. Russia's invasion happened well before our guys went there to train them and while Obama was in office the training was purely defensive like medivacs and building bunkers. Trump probably doesn't realize his generals have since sent trainers on how to fight. But this is normal with a NATO aspirant country as they need to up their standards to the best like the rest.

And no, inviting partner nations to train soldiers does not give Russia the right to attack Ukraine.

Me and Erasure differ on some aspects of how things should be in Russia. She is a strong advocate of change whereas I believe if it isn't broken, don't fix it.

No system of government is perfect. Some do work better than others. Some are adequate for the purpose in light of the situation at hand which is where I stand in my opinion of the current Russian government.

As for justice and PR I think that with all things considered (including the attitudes, intent and imposed circumstances) the right action was taken. PR was NOT alone in this, it was not a spontaneous "cry for freedom and liberty for the oppressed people of Russia". It was a contrivance, the people involved in it were tools used by outside interests who certainly DO NOT have the best interests of the Russian people in mind.

The reaction was political in nature. As was the provocation.

It sent a message to all of the little big men out there in the world. The Saakashvilis and nummies like the chess champion. No matter how much power and means you have to meddle in Russian society it isn't going to work.

Russian society will change. In it's own good time. Let them alone.

BS.

America has been meddling in Ukrainian affairs for years. The US State dept invested billions in the country. Try again.

US troops were seen close to the front lines in eastern Ukraine, there's no doubt in my mind.. Russia has every right to have troops in the DNR/LNR.

The US sponsored illegal government putsch in Ukraine, and Obama confirmed that officially. The US spent over billion USD on Poroshenko's elections, directly interfering with Ukraine's democratic process. Now, the US sells deadly weapons to Ukraine trying to escalate the conflict more.
So, it's essentially a war between the US and Russia, initiated by the US, and US is willing to fight it till the last Ukrainian.

Tell me how much Russia spent on DPR/LPR and Crimea for last 5 years of occupation?
New hospitals, schools, roads in Russia. High pension and no raise retirement age.
There is no chance to avoid a social explosion.
Russia is heading to suicide under Putin's control.

The US arranged for early elections, it was Putin who triggered the coup. Oh well, its all long into the past now. Invading Ukraine and blaming it on the US doesn't make things better for Russia, now a pariah in the civilized world. Not that it needs the USA to do that. Russia can't even provide samples from its doping lab despite being given so many opportunities to do so. Nope, can't admit the lies. Just blame America when the next Olympic ban comes. Grandmas pension worth $140? Well, that's America's fault too.

Putin is doing everything we want him to, keeping Russia from rising up again.
