Russia wins the Dakar Rally for heavy trucks (again) despite one of their 2 truck teams being disqualified for running over a dumbarsed photographer. Some people never learn. A good photo isn't worth your life or a broken hip. He was lucky thats all it was.

All correct, though I'm not sure he'll admit the 'future simple'.

There's not going to be any peace treaty between Japan and Russia.

Japan can't do anything without the approval of the US and the US has no interest in peace, just conflict. Japan being a vassel state of America it must obey its master.

The cyber space is full of lessons intended for Putin; too bad his missiles are not made out of pixels, innit?

Scrat, I am not following these events; so Russians are ready to hand those islands to Japan?
Any conditions involved?

Russia will never hand those islands over.

Japan and the US playing games after the agreement is no surprise, the islands are in fact part of the Kuril islands, and conveniently trying to redefine them after the war is BS. Also, Japan and the Soviets did come to an agreement, but of course the US blocked that, lol.

The original inhabitants also do not want the islands given back to Japan, after all, Japan committed genocide against them.

Boxus is referring correctly to the historical aspects of all the islands north of Japan. The Siberian peoples there were persecuted harshly by the Diamios of Medievil Japan, and for some of them it was no less than genocide, usually by starvation when an entire summers worth of fish meant to get the tribe through the winter was raided. For the rest it was migrate to other regions to escape the tender mercies of the Japanese lords of Hokkiaido and Northern Japan or submit to slavery. I believe some were the Ainu, the others I don't know.

Currently I have heard that Russia is willing to turn over 1 or 2 of the southern most islands under some unknown conditions. Russia has also put forth a proposal for a bridge from Sakhalin to Hokkaido using the island chain. Undoubtedly to facilitate the rapid invasion of the japanese mainland.
