I don't think this has been mentionned yet. Switzerland is great for physically active people and nature lovers. There are hiking and bike trails everywhere. Great winter sports as well! All rivers are so clean you can swim in them. Even the most remote places can be reached by public transport.
I can't even tell how much I missed this when I was living in the U.S.! In the U.S. you basically have no choice but to join a gym, or drive 1-2 hours to the next state parc, which I fould extremely depressing.
Imagine the US implementing immigration reform such as Swiss did recently. :>)))
the US benefits from cheap labor provide to them by massive immigration a lot of it illegal, closing its borders would be the dumbest thing they could possibly do!!!
switzerland on the other hand is flooded with "educated" (I put it in parentheses because educated is very subjective) EU citizens trying to find jobs there because the pay is good and hordes upon hordes of more EU citizens without an education just trying to live there because once again the pay is good!

It depends on the community, in the US. Some cities and towns have bike/walking trails and have been expanding the network of them in the last 20-30 years. It's been popular for some time to convert old railroad grades to bike trails, for example.
Naturally the water's clean; it comes directly from the glaciers! The same is true anywhere there are glaciers: Tibet, the Andes, the villages around the base of Mt, Kenya, parts of Alaska and Washington State, and other Alpine regions in Europe. Any mountain regions where springs feed the rivers: Romania, Bulgaria, the Sierras in California, Colorado. If that's the kind of amenity you like, you can move to Alaska, Washington, or Colorado.
I hear Tina Turner likes Switzerland so much, she gave up her US citizenship for Swiss citizenship. Good for her. I really enjoyed visiting Switzerland. I don't care if it is sterile or whatever. It seems to be a very well run beautiful country, with a high quality of life. Something that is missing in many other countries.
Correct me if I'm wrong but both Switzerland and America allow dual citizenship iirc. Why do she give up her American citizenship if that's the case?
