Is northern italy rich and developed as southern germany,england,belgium,netherlands,northern france etc?

Northern Italy is one of the richest regions of Europe, yep. The region counts several important cities as Milan or Torino. It's by the way a wonderful place, very nice architecture and succulent food.

(a precision : southern France is richest than northern, except Paris)

Really?I always thought that southern france was like southern italy,a little backward.I mean,marseille is famous for being a very poor city.Am I wrong?

There are poor areas both in northern and southern france.
