Just dropped my husband off at American Airlines in Texas - glad he's not traveling to Europe. I am waiting to hear if security levels in the US or his screening process is affected.
We have friends who live and work in Brussels and I just got off the phone with them. Lucky for them, they are actually on vacation this week so they weren't at work this morning. All corporate buildings in Brussels have been shut down - no one in and no one out. Good times, good times.

They actually targeted one of the US terminals in the airport!

Oh I know - the airline is the one my husband is traveling on this morning from Dallas. I am eagerly waiting for him to call and let me know if his screening or security was stepped up.
We're sort of used to this type of drama. He was in Saudi Arabia on 9/11 and I was on my way to the airport to fly to New Orleans on that day. He was also working on a platform off the coast of Nigeria in an area which was attacked by pirates about a day after he left (they abducted several workers from the platform that day).
And as always the mayors of Western Europe will blame now the crime to immigrants from South-Eastern Europe(Bulgaria...) and praise the exotic, brave culture of Radical Islam...
