Same here. Sometimes I skip the BB cream and the lipstick is always a vibrant shade. Read somewhere recently that gals over 50 should never have "nude lipstick" cross their lips! Probably not sure for everyone but sure did make a difference for me. I can get away with tons less makeup anytime of the year with a lipstick that pops!
Absolutely.
I think 50 plus skin usually does require the "less is more" look - all year, not just in the summer. The BB cream I use is so lightweight it's more like a tinted moisturizer and that's the way I like it.
I don't look good with "nude lips" either, which is why I use a cherry tinted lip gloss, and if I'm going out for the evening, like you I will put on a vibrant shade of lipstick. I am lucky to have dark eyes and eyelashes so there's no need to make them "pop" - I'll leave that to the lips!
I have oily skin, so in the summer I switch to a mattifying gel and powder, and more/stronger sunscreen if I'm going to be outside more. Eyes and lip products stay generally the same.
I actually do is generate tinted moisturiser by simply mixing up face cream with foundation and I do end up using a small brush to work on all the little areas.
I use Intellishade tinted moisturizer, but I think I'll shop the drug store for a different kind. As much as I like it, it still sweats off in the summer, and anyway I can only get it at the dermatologist and its sort of pricy.
I really like a scrubbed face with nothing on it in the hot humid south, but if I go out I do the tinted moisturizer, navy eyeliner, mascara, and pink, plum or coral Wet & Wild Lipstick ($.99). I should do more, but not willing.
The wet and wild lipstick, besides being cheap, is between a lip gloss and lipstick. Not heavy, but enough color to show up.
My routine doesn't change during the week - I prefer makeup for a professional look.
Cleanser for oily skin.
Daily Matte Moisturizer Oil Free 32 SPF
Under eye concealer
Primer with SPF 30
Foundation - I do use another shade during the summer, as I become darker.
Lipstick
I do have to be careful, as I live where it's hot about 9 months out of the year. I use a good cream to powder foundation that doesn't slide off of my face.
Weekends vary, depending on the occasion. At a minimum, I use the Primer and lipstick.

I like a lightweight lipstick like that so I'll give that a shot!
You may want to try BB cream. I get mine on Amazon, and it's from Korea. It takes about two weeks to ship, but it's not expensive. It's only about $15 or so and it lasts a long time. I love it because it's super lightweight and it stays on and it also has sunscreen in it. And you don't have to match the color to your skin - unless you are dark skinned it just sort of blends in. Not at first - you'll think "Oh my gosh, this is too chalky looking!" but within seconds it blends right in and disappears.
I've tried the BB creams from various companies (Lancome, Loreal, etc.) and I have not been nearly as satisfied as I am with this product. Plus they were more expensive.

Either BB cream or medium weight foundation thinned out with SPF moisturizer, either a cheek stain or cream blush and bright colors on the lips. I use a lot more highlighter in the summer, too. My eyes stay the same pretty much year round - either neutral browns or purples with a soft black or grey eyeliner and black mascara.
