I have noticed that in my fish Serge also he can get really mad if you put a mirror in front of the tank ... is it normal that they fill with bubbles the top of their tank in less than 1 day? I thought it was soap, but I only washed the tank with zizzling hot water and no soap when I bought it 2 days ago

It isn't soap - it is a betta bubblenest. Sometimes water changes will make your fish create them, but mostly it is an effort to draw attention....for mating Begs the question, why does mine think I might be interested???

Here's a short link to bubblenests:

Thanks in advance
your fish is cold. increase ambient room temperature and put in the sunlight. he is used to living in tropical climates. change 1/4 of the water daily with new bottled water, not from the tap- repeat 4 days out of 7 until he shows improvement. clean out any unwanted food particles that you can (q tip works well). above all, try not to traumatize him more than necessary until he gets used to having you around.
