OK, time to make your studied observations, or just plain wild guesses and reports about this upcoming winter in Flagstaff.

First measurable snow on the peaks?
First snow in town?
How much total snow?
How much in biggest storm?

Whoever gets closest wins!

I'll start:

Oct 12
Nov 22
4' total snow
8" largest storm

NOAA forecasts seem to be leaning towards warmer than normal temperatures with below normal snowfall. Guess we'll see.

I'm not making any predictions, and neither should NOAA. They screwed up BIG TIME on their ever so certain long range outlooks last year that the 2015-2016 winter would bring above normal precipitation to southern CA and AZ, including a heavy snowpack in northern AZ. Never happened! NOAA would do better to just wait & see what happens, and keep accurate records on what actually takes place, instead of getting everybody's hopes up like they did last winter.

Spot on Native..............

On a side note. The "warmers" are always screaming about the lie of man made gullible warming and what will happen in twenty years.........heck, the weather service can't tell you what will happen a month from now.

So far, snowfall has been kind of a bust.

Pretty early yet. If memory serves, Flag gets more snow later in the winter, and even into March some years, than in December.

How often does it typically snow in Flagstaff over the course of a winter? And how deep? I am wondering if it snows more or less than Taos, NM, where I live.FYI, in Taos it can snow once every couple of weeks, but it's rarely more than two or three inches, and the sun comes out the next day and melts most of it. Taos has 300 days of sunshine a year, + -. And is Flagstaff higher in elevation than Sedona?
