If moving to Florida, can I keep my insurance through Farm Bureau?
Does anyone have Farm Bureau insurance and lives in Florida?
Thanks.

I don't, but I just got a quote from them down here in Miami. They do insure here. You can go to their website and they will give you the number and email address of your local office. Btw, my quote was approximately $2800 for a 3000 sq ft home built in 2002. That is a good price these days.

We moved to the Tampa area in June. I checked with Farm Bureau insurance and they told me that they weren't writing new homeowners policies here (I assumed that they meant Hillsborough County).
I checked with several agents and the lowest price by far was Citizens.

It would probably be best to call your agent and ask them directly.

Call your agent in Tennessee and ask for a referral. If there is a customer service number, ask for a local office.

No, of course you can't keep the same policies, but you certainly can stay will the same carrier if it does business in FL. However, you really need to deal with a local agent who is familiar with FL laws. I realize that a lot of people buy onine, and that's fine too, but make sure you understand what you're getting before you need it.

Regarding combining auto/home, many companies offer that package. When I moved from NH, I kept State Farm, but my agent in NH told me to contact a local office. You can't register your vehicle without an insurance card proving you have a FL auto policy. Farm Bureau has offices in Florida, so just do as others have suggested and call your agent or customer service.

By the way, customer loyalty means nothing when it comes to coverage. We all think that the years we pay an insurance company somehow matters should we need car, home or health insurance, but it doesn't. Shop around for the best price. I've been lazy for years, so I am not practicing what I preach. However, my insurance premium keeps going up and I think it's time to look for a better rate.

Be prepared for a huge increase. Since FL allows uninsured drivers to continue driving you will see an increase in rates.

You also must have uninsured motorist. It is a rampant problem here.

Let us know the difference in the premium once it is established. Did it increase, decrease or stay about the same?
