You misunderstood me...I was alluding to the fact that many were moving here for that very reason but it has expanded into more of those tired of long winters in my opinion than a tax evasion.... though there certainly is still quite a bit of anti-tax, anti-toll road sentiment here.

We're probably looking at 2 very different things here. People/deadbeats moving to Florida to avoid debts (people have always done that and still do it). And people moving to Florida for low taxes (like no income tax/state estate/inheritance tax - etc.).

Then there's the climate issue too.

My husband and I first moved here in 1973 to get out of Philadelphia - which had both ridiculously high taxes and relatively long cold winters. We didn't want to wait until we were old to enjoy our lives outdoors for a large % of the year. We've never regretted making the move. Robyn

Anyone remember the good ole days when Democrats were made fun of for "tax and spend" ? It's a shame that it's now "borrow and spend".

Don't come to the red states when the blue ones die. California's on life support as it is.

Thanks for the laugh. Love it that California's doing so well now that Dems are in charge. Makes me proud. Look forward to a Dem supermajority in Florida.

Yeah, I'm sure that does make you proud, and I'm sure that all of these Floridians in this forum love you even more for wishing it on them.

Oh fear not, in a few years the brainiac electorate will "feel a need for a change" and give it back to a GOP candidate to squander.
