TallRick, I understand how you feel. I left Philadelphia for the same reason. However, I do not think I wear rose-tinted glasses like the last poster suggested. I am not a kid and I am well educated and did my research before moving. Florida is a big state with good parts and terrible parts as all states have. I made sure that I could afford where I now live, had a job in place, and looked at the area and neighborhood thoroughly. I do not know if eventually this place will change for worse. If it does, then I will prepare to relocate again, although I am optimistic (not foolish) about it.

Ditto!

We love where we live now, we hated the Sub-division in Ocala that we DID live in... but we bought a home in a nice little town right outside of Ocala and just LOVE it!

Why anybody would be unhappy with Florida is beyond me. I have lived here in Daytona for 22 years and loved every second of it. What's not to love! Quality of life is great. Weather is great. I LOVE HOT. Cost of living is great. The people are great. I tell people when I die, I don't have to leave Florida, I'm already in Heaven. What else do you need to know!!
