If it stayed on the track the NHC has now, it would be an absolute direct hit on Miami. But it's still four days out, and the track looks like it's bending east. If that trend continues, the eye might not even make landfall in Florida.

Orlando is a hot mess too. You'd think a nuclear warhead were on its way down.
Driving to work this morning was an absolute nightmare, much thanks to the suspension of toll roads.
Forget going to the stores. I tried to do some routine grocery shopping last night. Walked in, strolled around for a little, then walked right out.

The stores in central FL are getting wiped out. We stocked up on Monday, but I needed a few things for dinner so I went to Publix this morning. The only bread to be found were baguettes, rye & some sort of seeded bread in the bakery or you could pick up some jalapeno hawaiian rolls or s'mores english muffins in the bread aisle. Plenty of eggs, milk and canned goods though.

I'm preparing for worst and hoping for the best. We are canning spaghetti sauce, meatballs & taco meat tonight. I boiled a dozen eggs and if it looks like we are going to get hit hard and lose power I'll boil another dozen. My plan for Friday is to bake muffins, bread, rolls, cookies, brownies & make some rice krispie treats. I'll probably make a pot of soup and boil extra pasta to have on hand so we don't have to waste water if we lose power. All we have is a coleman camping stove so I'm trying to make it as easy as possible to heat stuff up. If all this prepping is for nothing at least I won't have to cook dinner for awhile!!!

Wine might be more fun.

If the winds are likely to be over 100mph get out. Under that not a problem. Lived i=on the Outer Banks in NC, Kitty Hawk and that was a realistic standard there and for FL.

I'm with you; I'll listen to the people that have degrees in meteorology.

It looks like the models keep tracking east.... NHC/NOAA is following the spaghetti models out east, behind by a few hours still looks like a close brush with south FL and then up the Atlantic, still a lot can change.

Maybe the resident there won't be such a jackass and believe some of what expert scientists are telling us about human influence on weather and climate.
