Thanks for your most informative post. I'm hearing from others that people are fleeing Florida in droves. There were a couple of posts in this thread that said to consider northwest Florida, the panhandle. I think we're writing Florida off our list, though, and are now looking more seriously at Nevada, Texas, and, simply because we love it, California. We have no kids, and my job is strictly online and freelance, so I can live anywhere in the country. We'd prefer to move somewhere where the temperatures are warm year 'round so that we can hike and bike in comfort all year long. Heat doesn't bother us. We're learning a lot from the city-data forums!

Smart!

I am a seo geek and here trust me they are scary about tech no clue at all , please save yourself and family the heart break .

We had back to back hurricanes and I lost an office , we had a house fire caused by bad wiring as inspectors here can be paid off easy .

We have nothing but banks out of business , old people one who hit my wife while walking and forget night life in smaller towns be in your house by 10pm or be warned .

Texas great , Cali I love dont know Nevada but sounds better then here lol.

Good luck any time you can warn another geek to stay away you have helped I am feel like a outcast as no one around here speaks about tech nor likes us .

I'm thinking your wild and crazy posts here aren't winning you any friends, either.

I agree with that. Plus , outdoors? Only at the beach, anything else outside is just too hot for most of the year unless you enjoy sweating in 98 degree 100% humidity weather.
I would probably say Tx also. Good luck!

There are some serious geek clusters in parts of central Florida and the Panhandle, but save for the giant NASA complex, they aren't always obvious to outsiders.
