We adore lizards. We had an Iguana back in Jersey.

Ohhh...the native little ones are cute & harmless & they chomp on the mosquitoes. Now, in the past decade we sure have had a bunch of iguana's that love S. FL. Pet owners would dump 'em or they'd escape from their cages & now they are multiplying eating our hibiscus flowers, etc. If somebody wants to see lots of them, just go to the Matheson Hammock entrance.

I hear there is a big problem with the Iguana's on Boca Grande on the West Coast. The people living there want to get rid of them. I think they are so cute. They do eat the landscape plants and seem to getting the folks living there really upset.
We don't have any where we are, but I would love to see one!
We have Bobcats, owls, eagles, sandhill cranes, herons, etc.

Really, bobcats??? Never saw one. How are they around people?? I can just picture psoldtimer going..."geeezz.... now it's iguana's & bobcats?? Ha, Ha.." I wonder what they have where he's going. I've heard all my life of a couple of 'em I won't mention, but I just wonder.
Yeah, the iguanas can be troublesome as they do eat the landscape plants (& native lizards), some people are sprinkling chile pepper powder on their landscape plants - seems the iguanas don't like chile. It's kind of funny to me because I think of Iguana's being native from South & Central America & they don't like chiles that originally came from their hometown?

Ha, ha, ha.... way cool !!!

I know it may sound sick to some, but I sure love wildlife.... I know nobody wants to hear this but in my yard I have the nocturnal Florida gray tree climbing foxes & the regular marsupial oppossum's - both harmless. The fox is about the size of a cat 9-10 lbs. Most people think they are cats late at night...but I can tell by their gait, it's them. Most people don't believe me when I tell them we have 'em. They are native to Florida. They eat frogs, vermin & snakes...they are very shy & quite needed. My city has a catch & release program to give 'em a rabies shot. The 'possums eat avocados, mangoes, lizards & stuff life that. They are ugly but sweet...even one of my cats hangs out w/one of 'em. They are buddies...
