I put a couple of ears that are shucked into a zip lock baggie, leave a corner open and microwave it for about 3 minutes. This retains all those vit. and flavor. It's the best way I've ever had corn on the cob. For me it tastes so much better then cooking in water! Yum--slather with butter and s&p.
I put mine in a pot with cold water and put sugar on top. Im used to Sugar Queen corn so thats the way I always cook it. I let it boil until I can stick a fork in the kernals than I take it and put it on a plate and put the butter on it while its still piping hot
I just got some really great out of the field COTB and I had it with Pork chops and New potatoes.
This time I shucked the corn and put it into boiling water for about 2-3 minutes, melted butter, salt, pepper...it was outstanding...
So, how do YOU cook it. I remember my grandmother putting it into a "pressure cooker for about 15 mins" why??
On the BBQ I do NOT shuck it, I wash the outside so its wet and put in on the BBQ until a couple sides are dark...then shuck it and its great..
Hope my little corn patch can do something soon........???
HW...Happy trails, and good harvest eatin...
we never boil are corn. we always steam it. you lose to much flavor when you boil. when we steam it take about 10 minutes after water starts to steam also you mean COTC NOT COTB...LOL
Splash of white ving in the pot with some salt and boil till the kernals turn bright and puff a little.
Growing corn in small patches it hard because corn grows up to be a boy or a girl and the bees have to help them do thier thing. You may want to try to hand polinate next year.
I shuck and wash then slather with butter and sprinkle with sugar. Wrap individually in wax paper and microwave for 4 minutes (per ear of corn). Serve with additional butter, salt & pepper (if desired).
I boil enough water to cover. Put in corn, turn off heat....11 minutes, delicious! The NJ corn is extra sweet this year.
