I was just reading a health tip this morning about how avocados are known to promote blood circulation to the brain, but I guess it might already be too late for some who think they're bad for you.

What's that? Do you just smear it on toast? I would love that.

I had a friend who lost a ton of weight and her favorite thing for breakfast was a whole wheat English muffin, with lots of olive oil and red pepper flakes. I like it too.

I make a quick and tasty guacamole by combining fresh smashed avocados with Newman's Own Pineapple Salsa. Then I season with some spices and serve.

I receive lots of compliments, and it is so easy.

With a squeeze of lemon or lime, salt and black pepper or read pepper flakes is perfect.

I happen to have basil olive oil and lemon salt....which were amazing for avocado toast.

Now, we all just assume these veggies and fruits will be in the market 12 months a year.
We are getting California Haas Avocados year round now from Costco. Nice large ones for 83 cents a piece. I noticed this was the first year that they have all been from California since last January.

Default Food tip - Avocado: ripe or not

Here is a handy tip about an avocado. You don't need to second-guess its ripeness again

If that works it's the greatest discovery in my lifetime! Thanks Elnina! I'll certainly try it next time shopping.

Got any hints for judging Mangoes? How about the sweetness of cantaloupe or watermelon? Man would that be nice and a money saver as well!

I did try that several times with the Haas but I've yet to see a pale one. They are all discolored and it it wasn't ripe.
