My latest: Sprinkling Black Pepper into my salad!

When I was a Waiter, when I'd serve a salad, I'd bring the pepper grinder to the table, and a number of people would have me grind some pepper into their salads, which seemed inconcievable to me at the time!

Last week, I decided to try sprinkling some black pepper into my salad, and? Why, oh why, oh why, didn't I try this decades ago!!!

Even though I make my own salad dressings, this was the trick I'd been missing all along! Can't imagine eating a salad now without it!

Almond milk. The absolute best sub for cows milk.

And greek yogurt in your guacamole. Just throw in a couple of spoons. Makes it creamy, adds protein, and if you use 2% or lower even reduces the calories. And is tasty.

Another greek yogurt trick? I mix it with creme fraiche and put it on top of fruit. Depending on my mood, I might mix in a little honey. It adds a nice balance to your fruit, makes it feel decadent. And you get some extra calcium.

I can substitute 1/2 plain Greek yogurt for mayo and never notice the difference.

Cooking old fashioned rolled oats in the microwave is just as easy as those packets of instant oatmeal and much tastier and healthier.

At which point it ceases to be guacamole and becomes "avocado dip".

Hahaha. Only a bit. It helps with making it creamy and smooth. . I am talking about around 2 tablespoons for a half cup of guacamole. Try it. Especially when the avos aren't perfectly ripe and mashable. Avocado, tomato, lime, chopped peppers, onion, maybe a little cumin. Salt and pepper and a dollop of yogurt is yummy. The dip is still 75% avo. Vs the avocado dip would be way more yogurt.

I am on my phone, please forgive the typos.
