I have the perfect dish for tonight "Nothing"

We just got home from Golden Coral where we ate like little pink piggies... now brown
So if there is a cry for something to eat... here comes the toast

Sure you all talk bread!!! I'd give anything for good bread right now.

Bow ties/sausage/epper were great.

Casino day tomorrow.

Tonight we're having Thai chicken soup.

Really easy to make and tastes good, plus won't have to cook tomorrow. Nice to come home from work on a Monday and not have to worry about dinner.

Thumbs up The Agenda - Week of Sept 29 - Oct 3

This week at the case44 abode, I've got these things planned for this week:

Shake-N-Bake pork chops (original coating -- my favorite)
Salmon fish tacos (corn tortillas, Pace picante sauce)
Italian sausage (mild), pasta, Prego tomato sauce.

And, possibly next weekend, I'm thinking about getting my crockpot out. I'm debating between butterbeans and ham, or possibly pinto beans. I'll think about making some cornbread once I decide, but that could all change. I'm not ruling out making chili, either. You'll find out soon.

Have a great week at the dinner table, and bon appetit!

OK I've done all my laundry and I even took a nap this afternoon. BF made some kind of chicken cutlets and potatoes and I added some of that Uncle Bens 90 sec. microwave rice and some cuban bread with butter to my dish.

We ate SO much in NC that it's tough breaking those habits.

I loved NC by the way. We were up in Blowing Rock. Those mountains! OMG! How scary. Our car had 4 sets of brakes. I had to keep holding the door for balance and yelling at my BF to forget the posted speed limit and do half of that! How those houses are built on those slopes is amazing. I would be petrified to live there.

We also went to Asheville and spent the day at the Biltmore Estate. Nice place.

We spent our last day in Charlotte. Unfortunately the weather was miserable and since we didn't know where to really go....we found Birkdale Village by getting lost and Lake Norman. Then we parked the car at the hotel and took a C-Charlotte 2 hour tour where the guy drove us to really nice areas in the immediate Uptown area.

I am definitely going back! Must do some real hunting now. I especially liked 4th Ward and Eastover but that one is for when I win the Powerball.

We missed the real fall foliage in the High Country and I must have taken a picture of every red leaf I saw.

Absolutely must go back!

Back from returning the boy to La Crosse, and for a change his grocery stop was under $100. Not by much, but it was still a pleasant surprise to see the total at only two digits left of the decimal. Probably won't see him again until Thanksgiving, though I expect a plea for help with the rent again a month from now. Lordee, I hope he gets his rear in gear and finishes the degree soon.

Spouse is making Swiss steak and mashed potatoes for supper, something that he's been craving for a while, and I'm more than happy to let him make all the mess he wants to. I'm looking forward to the leftovers that I know will result, since I have class and he's out of town tomorrow night, we have a neighborhood meeting Tuesday night, and he has class while I have a volunteer stint on Wednesday night. Leftovers in the house will not merely be a good thing but an absolute necessity!

Here's wishing all a good week of good eating.

Cyn I would have called you but it is too late. I am back from Palm Springs. We had a wonderful trip. Of course I cooked since we have the trailer, but I don't mind since I like cooking..... The lasagna idea with creamy pesto sauce pfffffffffff.... Went out the window when hub told me it was going to be 104' there. Not turning oven on in that temp. So I BBQ'ed Lemon Dill Chicken, nice thick cut top strloins, and made angel hair el pesto.

I made hub a grilled ham, chs, and egg sand when we got home. My son ate mac n chs. Then cinnimon toast.

Tommorow is Monday night football so I will be making a pot of Wedding Soup, crusty bread, & butter.

I had to read a good 10 or so pages to catch up and I did. Welcome to the new! Welcome back to the old! Now lets get cooking!
