As I type my ''Palak Aloo'' ( Spinach and Potato) is slowly simmering . I made this morning a new batch of Ghee and at the time when I serve this meal I will pour some melted ghee over the dish. With it ''Rogani Roti''.'Rogan' means creamy and it is made with milk, butter or cream. It keeps well for a few days. Because I have an elderly couple here tonight who cannot chew well chapatis I decided on this type of bread. To drink lassi or water. For dessert ''Rawa Halva'' (Semolina pudding) and a cup of chai masala tea.

I'm thinking just salad. We are going to a Brazilian steakhouse for lunch so I want to keep it light.

I knew we would be having a very busy weekend so I planned all my meals this week to have leftovers for the weekend.
We will be having lasagna, Beef Stew and homemade chicken noodle soup all weekend along with fresh fruit and bread.

Almost done FINALLY in clearing out both freezers. Whew. Tonight is a pork loin that was preflavored "herb and garlic". I remember hubby grabbing this instead of the usual plain one for a bbq. Hope it's good. Thinking simple roasted potatoes and sauteed spinach with it. I have monkey bread kit that hubby brought home on a whim as well. May go ahead and make that. and see if it's any good as the regular way I make it. (make a standard sweet white bread dough in my machine)

I recently purchased the cookbook that is making evey best seller list...Jeruslem. I gotta say, normally I would have thought I wasnt into Jewish food..but this book is more of a regional cookbook (Middle East, of course), and it is remarkably good. I am making a chicken dish from there (again, I have made it 3 times this month, it is THAT good). Complex flavors, very creative spice mix...tumeric, corriander, ginger, garlic, cumin, paprika, fresh lemon..then slow cooked on stove top with fried potatoes that simmer in the juices. It is sublime.

I made homemade vegetable fried rice with scrambled egg in it., I am also making homemade eggrolls, with vegetables and ground pork. Duck sauce for dipping. I just have to fry the eggrolls and dinner is done. I had a craving to make my own Chinese food and I can control the amount of sodium that goes in it.
