Friday's school cafeteria main line menus aren't that great during Lent because they are meatless - today's lunch will be grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup. I'll just skip it. Not that I don't LIKE grilled cheese and tomato soup - I do - I just don't like low fat cheese or tomato soup made with water instead of milk.
Last Friday's lunch was vegetable and cheese stromboli. Yuck. It's not a stromboli without the ham and pepperoni. There are a lot of us who don't give up meat (or anything else) for Lent.
A non-fat strawberry patch Greek yogurt, a toasted whole wheat pita bread with healthy margarine and strawberry spread and a large mug of ceylon tea with a teaspoon of sugar and a bit of skim milk.
Finished off the Bourbon ham and pastrami sandwiched between multigrain sandwich slims. Stuffed in some sliced tomatoes and lettuce and munched away.
