I want everyone else's dinner. It's still in the 90s here and too hot to cook so it's leftover cold pasta salad. pasta with carrots, broccoli, and hotdogs. Lunch was when the ice cream truck came around--not healthy but it was cold!
You don't want mine; DH warmed up a can of sirloin beef burger soup, and I had a square of dark chocolate after. Then we ate some popcorn while we watched Preacher.
Of course, once I am permitted to put weight on this foot, I might start cooking again.
I took some leftover shirt-steak, cut it into strips and sauteed it with onions, garlic, pablano peppers, and tomatoes.
With leftover linguini, I sauteed it with garlic and butter and added romano cheese.
With leftover acorn squash, I sccoped out the squash, added raisins, maple syrup, and cinnamon.

I roasted Thai bananas for desert .
My wife almost threw away the bananas as they were black. However, with Thai bananas, the flesh remains firm for at least a wek after the skin turns black.
tonight spoiled brat will eat the left over stuffed zucchini from Friday night. I think I will make him some cold slaw as well: for me, it is another day of liquids only. I will enjoy my glass of juice, cut of broth and some sparkling water. How exciting is that? Boy will I be glad when tomorrow morning gets here.
At least the weather is cooling off for a few days.
My cooking club met tonight and the food was fabulous. Here is the menu:

Zucchini Pudding Souffles with Creamy Tomato Sauce
Fried Chicken (the pieces were huge--must be mutant chickens)

Summer Squash Casserole (better than what I had in Santa Fe)
Spinach sautéed with scallions and shallots (I brought this and will continue to make it this way)
Deconstructed Street Corn
Charlotte Russe topped with sugared strawberries (I brought this--first time making anything like this)
Chess Pie Squares
Lavender Mint Lemonade (with and without vodka)
Pink Perfection with orange-infused rum
Evening Storm with champagne, Calvados, black tea, and lots of fruit
I ate too much but it was our best yet.
Wow...what a great meal. I would have eaten way too much too.
Tonight cabbage rolls with garlic mashed potatoes and a beer. For dessert red sweet cherries.
We haven't had stuffed cabbage rolls in years; used to love them. As for the cherries, this year, for us, has been an awesome cherry year. They have been so good and so inexpensive we have been eating them the past month of so.
Tonight we're grilling rib eyes with garlic/chive butter. I made French-style potato salad, spinach with mushrooms and bacon, and an apple pie for dessert.
