Have got a couple of friends coming over for dinner tonight. So might treat them with an old favourite - Chicken & Mushroom HotPot:-
butter or margarine
chopped onion
button mushrooms, sliced
plain flour
chicken stock cube or 500ml fresh chicken stock
pinch of nutmeg
pinch of mustard powder
cooked chicken breasts - chopped and diced
mixed pack of sweetcorn , peas, broccoli and carrots, or any veg that floats your boat
sliced potatoes (or mashed)
knob of melted butter
Marinated pork tenderloin (on the grill), grilled pineapple, some kind of grilled vegetables (probably mushroom, asparagus, onion and tomato skewers), and garlic bread. Brownies for desert (from scratch- this IS the celebration dinner, after all. )
Tonight spaghetti with Thick & Chunky Tomato Sauce from Scratch ? Oh She Glows a spinach salad and homemade mini garlic buns. To drink lime/lemon water. For dessert a fruit salad with blueberries,strawberries,raspberries,blackberries, red currant and homemade yogurt.
Saint Louis ribs on the grill for hubby, I am having a chicken burger stuffed with provolone and spinach and zucchini patties. Left over cauliflower bake for him.
Well happy belated birthday to your sweet baboo! They share it with my little bug who turned ten yesterday. And the birthday meal sounds divine!
Tonight I am making a pesto chicken Florentine. I had a craving for spinach and some fresh pesto and chicken that needed to be used up.

We're just grilling chicken apple sausages and brats on oatmeal buns, finishing the remainder of the spicy cabbage (I'll just add crumbled bacon and more red pepper flakes) and french fries.
