I have posted here before about crazy fast food prices. Today, I beat the system. Went to Chilis and sat at the bar. I was immediately greeted with the news that they have a special on Miller Lite for $1.75 a bottle. Cheaper than a glass of Coke at McDoanld's. Then I picked from their lunch menu. For $6, I got an order of house salad and a big toasted turkey sandwich, all served in a cozy, dimly lit bar with big screen TVs around. I felt so good I didn't mind leaving a $3 tip before I left.
We cleaned up all the leftovers since we are leaving for vacation tomorrow morning. Fried chicken, chicken and noodles, mashed potatoes, green beans and corn. Was just enough for 2 lunches.
That is great.
We sort of make a game of finding good lunch deals. We like the double burgers, split an order of really good fries, for about $8. At The Cookout.
We can also do about the same at Steak and Shake. Two burgers with fries and split a milkshake for $12.
Sure, we can get cheaper, and we can get more expensive, but why?
