had tilapia last night, it was from Sam's, forgot to check where it was raised, but wherever it was awesome. It was the frozen, crusted pieces I have been getting for years and I cooked them in my air fryer.

We had the same thing with friends a couple nights ago. Sam's and all. It didn't have the crust though. I helped in the kitchen so saw it was cooked quickly in an oven. I thought it was delicious. Just a little lemon and pepper added for me. Some had....ketchup and really liked it.

I made the green leaf lettuce-strawberry-and a little cheese curl salad.

"Do you eat Tilapia?"

I did, but no more. I read some things that really were disgusting. I also don't eat farmed fish.

Growing up, I never heard of Tilapia. I didn't know anyone who fished for Tilapia, and it was not served - at home or at restaurants.

I think I first heard of it in the mid to late 90s.

I've read that it's a "mutant fish" and that most of it comes from filthy Chinese fish farms and are fed unspeakably horrible things.

Also that it is loaded with dioxin, a known carcinogen.

I'll pass.

I don't eat tilapia or catfish. One of many reasons? Tasteless.....
While seafoodwatch organization says tilapia from China is OK, I rather pass...

BTW: you can check any fish there.

Me too. If I could find farm raised tilapia from the states, which I used to be able to do, I’d buy some. Apparently SE Asian tilapia is farmed in extremely filthy water.

NOPE, little to no Omega-3 and usually farm-raised in China.

No Tilapia here. No flavor, needs too much doctoring in the kitchen, who knows where it came from considering prices.

Tilapia is flavorless junk. One of the few fish/seafood items that I have no use for whatsoever.
