Onions...scallions and mushrooms in every omelet and soup or gravy, stuffing, sautee...always in my house.

I guess we all agree; the most often used are onions and garlic. I cook veggies almost every night or have them in salads. After onions and garlic I guess lettuces would be next on our list. Of course tomatoes, but they are technically fruit. We use a lot of squash as well and peppers of all kinds..

Knowledge is knowing tomatoes are fruit. Wisdom is not putting tomatoes in your fruit salad.

Mmmmm - I have a Carrot and Leek Soup recipe! - follows in the vein of everyone using onions so much.

But, nothing new here. Onions and garlic reign.
Yep, and for me celery would be my next common veggie (soups, stews and such).

I use tomatoes a lot in the summer because a local farmer grows, and sells them. The ones in the supermarket don't even taste like a tomato compared to these, so I don't cook with them three seasons out of the year.

Absolutely! I do that when I don't want that sharp onion taste in things like potato salad, etc.
